Description Of Service: Youth Connections Program Newcastle and Lake Macquarie LGA's
Youth Connections is a Federally Funded program through DEEWR which combines the Youth Pathways, Youthlinx, Connections and Mentor Marketplace Programs. The Program aims to assist young people who are most at risk of disengaging from education or training and therefore not attainin Year 12 or equivalent.
The objective is to support these young people to attain Year 12 or equivalent and to help them make a successful transition through education and onto further education, training or work.
Service delivery will reflect the young persons personal situation and circumstances aiming to build resilience and improve personal skills and wellbeing of the young person
Youth Connections is a wholistic services program that provides linkages to other services who can meet the needs of young people. We have a network of over 60 services in the region in areas such as Education, Training, Youth Activities, Counselling, Accomodation, Indigenous Support and Multicultural Support.
We also work closely with families and the community to ensure that services are available and accessable to the whole community, families and young people. We work to increase the capacity of other agencies to work with young people by supporting new and existing projects and programs where there is an unmet need. | | Contact Person: | Bradley Dunn |
