Newcastle Youth Interagency – NAIDOC Celebration

NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The week is a great opportunity to participate in a range of activities and to support your local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.

Our next Newcastle Youth Interagency Meeting will be held on July 10th and will focus on celebrating the culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The Youth Programs team at Awabakal Ltd will be cooking us a BBQ breaky starting from 9:30am, followed by a Welcome to Country by Uncle Bill Smith and a performance by the Wakakulung Dancers.

Reach out if you would like to speak about a cultural program or practice your school or service would like to celebrate and share with the network!

Connections (30 mins): A short activity to connect and meet new people
