Responding to Adolescent Distress

Equi Youth is offering a limited number of workshops for school staff from June through to November in Broadmeadow. The four-hour workshop is evidence-based and will provide participants with the tools and strategies to engage a young person and collaboratively develop a plan for responding to distress.

The training is appropriate for both primary and secondary staff. While all staff would benefit, it is most useful for staff in executive, leadership and wellbeing roles who regularly work with highly distressed or emotionally dysregulated young people.

  • The training is designed to help participant’s prepare to do the Driver Knowledge Test.
  • Morning tea and lunch is provided at Yamuloong
  • Participant’s that complete the training are exempt from paying the Driver Knowledge Test Fee, and
  • the program pays for their Licence Fee once they have passed the test.

Figuratively Speaking: Disclosure & Awareness of Intimate Partner Violence

UoN are seeking women over the age of 18, with lived experience of intimate
partner violence, to participate in research project that includes a clay sculpture
workshop and an exhibition.

The workshop is to be held at Hunter Women’s Centre, Mayfield in February,
2019. Registration and consent will be required prior to attending. Participants will
be asked to complete written feedback before and after workshop participation.
